Base on the ISO management system, we assure customers of quality. We adopt MIL-STD-105 inspection and set the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) Level that is most suitable for store display products. From sample inspection, incoming material inspection, process inspection, top article inspection to finished product inspection, we carry out established procedures and inspection standards. One customer had a case of a balloon display stand in his hand. For years, he couldn’t find any factory with the ability and willingness to produce samples for him within his limited budget. Despite he was confident that this balloon display has market demand in European department stores and shopping malls, no factory was willing to help him try it out. During 2017, the client approached the ABBACREDO sales representative for assistance. ABBACREDO’s R&D team immediately proceeded with the case.

In the case of the Mobile Balloon Tower Display, the original drawing was not detailed about the spiral structure on the upper part of the product. After the customer sent the prototype of the spiral tower to us, we found out the arc-shaped spiral tower was made by flat iron with grooved edging and it should be done by special machines. However, the cost of the mold was extremely high, far exceeded the customer’s budget.

Based on the customer’s budget limit and the desire to maintain the original design effect, ABBACREDO recommended using metal wire instead of the arc-shaped grooved edging. Initially, we tried wire bending test with the same diameter of 6mm but that failed as the wire material was too hard to fit tightly to the spiral flat iron. Then we used the softer metal wire instead but found out that the surface of the wire after bending had unevenness which was an issue. After several tests, we got the best result by using a 4 mm diameter wire instead and recommended to our customer, it was accepted and the sample was subsequently approved by the happy customer.

The ABBACREDO team sought to produce suitably curved wire molding jigs for the result of quality products. Although difficulty increased as we try to complete mass production by hand, we nonetheless met the quality requirements and delivered on time within budget. The roll-out plan made customers very satisfied and expressed their gratitude toward the professionalism and dedication of ABBACREDO’s production team. 1) What is the difference between new acrylic material and recycled material?

Ans: The new material is crystal clear; the recycled material yellows easily. ABBACREDO acrylic materials are made of new material, no recycled material concerns ever.

 

2) What are the choices and colors of acrylic?

Ans: In terms of light transmission; there are transparent, semi-transparent/translucent, opaque, frosted/matte, or fluorescent effects. For example, we generally use translucent white acrylic for an LED lightbox. To create a sense of technology, fluorescent acrylic panels can be considered. There are a variety of acrylic colors to choose from. Clear, white, black, and frosted acrylics are commonly used. Other special colors are also available but might have a minimum order requirement for material purchasing.

 

3) What are the acrylic splicing methods?

Ans: We can make 90-degree bonding or 45-degree miter joint according to customers’ needs. 45-degree miter joint has brighter refraction effect which is loved by many customers.

 

4) How to make acrylic glue without bubbles?

Ans: To reduce bubbles, it has a lot to do with the acrylic panel, structure, environment, temperature, glue itself, and the understanding of internal stress of the acrylic panel, etc… The bubble problem must be tested in combination with various reasons before it can be resolved and it is also expertise with accumulated experiences. The acrylic displays we make rarely generate bubbles which are highly affirmed and appreciated by all.

 

5) What is the difference between Cast Acrylic and Extruded Acrylic?

Ans: The tolerance of the cast acrylic thickness is slightly higher, but it is relatively flexible and easy to process. Most of ABBACREDO’s processing adopts cast acrylic. The thickness of the extruded acrylic is more precise, but it is hard to be processed. Based on product structure and customer needs, we choose the most suitable acrylic sheet for the production.

 

6) What is the difference between flame polishing and diamond polishing?

Ans: Flame polishing is a traditional acrylic polishing process, but is gradually being replaced by diamond polishing. If the acrylic panel is less than 6mm, it can be flame polished. With a thickness of more than 6mm, it is recommended to use diamond polishing to obtain a better cross-section crystal effect.

FAQ

1) Why is ABBACREDO’s plating quality far superior to others?

The brightness of electroplating depends on the grinding, polishing, the time and conditions of electroplating operation. 4) What are the advantages of the automatic gantry plating line? How is it different from the automatic cycle plating line?

The automatic cycle plating line is efficient in the mass production of small objects and each production line can load many products for electroplating. The gantry electroplating line is suitable for large projects; the number of products that can be loaded in each round of production is limited which increases processing time and inevitably the cost. However, ABBACREDO can offer two systems simultaneously for your different projects which means the ability to provide the right solution is our strong suit.

ABBACREDO took orders for David Jones display racks in 2017. So far, we have successfully delivered five department stores’ display racks. Customers are genuinely satisfied with the products we have provided and hope to continue this cooperation. It is never easy to accomplish such tasks with punctuality because dedicated project management and full collaboration between various divisions are necessarily required.

There are three main challenges in this case:

Customers designed the display stands very beautifully with intrinsic details. The materials used are highly diverse (including metal and wood combined with LED lights, acrylic, mirrors, glass, etc.). The structure of display stands is undoubtedly much more complicated than usual, which makes this project one of the more difficult brands we have ever done.

David Jones has high requirements for the quality of its department display equipment; even the same style of display stand is designed with multiple different finishes to suit the retail space at its best. If the on-site production management is not diligently strict, it may easily cause production confusion or errors, which leads to demonstrate the importance of project management.

The customer requires the production delivery time of about 6 to 8 weeks, and there are nearly 100 styles of products. In the case of orders with many constraints and requirements, diligent project management and close cooperation amongst various divisions involved are essential. ABBACREDO team constantly challenges ourselves and always raises the quality requirements to the next level, which is indeed one of the reasons customers appreciate us as a quality supplier who aims to outdo itself every time.

Because David Jones’ order is complicated and diverse, it is necessary to understand the customer’s display drawings in detail during the quotation step. Upon receiving the confirmed order, the display’s product materials, specifications, structure, and illustrations were quickly apprehended. Then we produce manufacturing drawings and proceeded with color samples. After customer confirmation of color samples, we can arrange material purchasing immediately to facilitate production and meet quality and delivery requirements. Again, none of these steps were skipped nor looked at lightly.

When taking David Jones’s department display orders, it was inevitable to encounter some quality issues during production. But after internal brainstorming and or patient discussions with customers, there were solutions and improvements, such as:

 

1) When installing acrylic shelves (or glass shelves) into the back panel’s grooves, we must design the notch at corners of the inserted side of an acrylic panel. It helps in keeping acrylic shelf length long enough to reach two ends without the grooves limiting in the back panel and also preventing the acrylic panel from cracking during installation.

 

2) For jewelry display stand, the original design was to glue the LED extrusion frame around the top of the internal glass showcase. But we made some changes by separating the metal frame of LED from the glass showcase. The advantage of this modification was to avoid the original design of glue marks on the bonded LED metal frame and glass cover. It made the jewelry showcase more beautiful and appealing visually.

 

3) Per original drawing from the client, it is 90-degree for the L-shaped angle steels for griping glass shelves, but it would cause sagging after inserted glass shelf due to glass weight. We modified the L-shaped angle to be 89-degree for the upper one and 91-degree for the lower one, so it could have 1-degree uplift to keep the glass shelf level after installation without sagging due to weight.

 

4) One of the display fixtures drawings required the finish color of the metal frame between bronze and gold by electric plating. However, the requested color failed to be done by the electrical plating method. Per our experience in producing diverse and small quantity metal store displays, ABBACREDO had developed a new technique of painting on metalwork. We made the color sample between bronze and gold color by painting technique instead of electric plating and presented the outcome to the customer. It was pleasantly approved,so the finish was applied to mass production for related display racks and shipped out promptly.
